Pakistani PM UNGA Speech: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York on Friday, 27 September. During this, Shahbaz Sharif started singing Kashmir raga as usual. He was so engrossed in his rhetoric against India that he had no hesitation in taking the name of terrorist Burhan Wani even on the international stage.
PM Shehbaz said, “The Kashmiri people are resolute in rejecting the false Indian identity that New Delhi wants to impose on them. India’s policy of brutal coercion and repression in occupied Kashmir has ensured that Burhan Wani’s legacy is worth millions. “Will continue to inspire the struggle and sacrifice of Kashmiris.”

Pakistani PM said:-
- Like Palestine, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been struggling for their freedom and right to self-determination for a century. (Compared Kashmir with Palestine)
- Instead of moving towards peace, India has retreated from its commitments to implement Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.
- Since August 5, 2019, India has taken unilateral illegal steps to impose what its leaders call a “final solution” for Jammu and Kashmir. (referring to 370)
- Day and night, nine lakh Indian soldiers are terrorizing the people of Jammu and Kashmir, with draconian measures, including long curfews, extrajudicial killings and the abduction of thousands of young Kashmiris.
- India is confiscating land and property of Kashmiris, and settling outsiders in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, turning the Muslim majority into a minority. This well-worn strategy is adopted by all the occupying powers, but it has always failed. Even in Jammu and Kashmir, it will fail
- The Kashmiri people are steadfast in rejecting the false Indian identity that New Delhi wants to impose on them. India’s policy of brutal coercion and repression in occupied Kashmir has ensured that Burhan Wani’s legacy will continue to inspire the struggle and sacrifice of millions of Kashmiris
- Even more worrying is that India is engaged in a massive expansion of its military capabilities, which are essentially deployed against Pakistan. Its war principles envisage a surprise attack and “limited war under nuclear threat” (India is increasing its military strength).
- India has unthinkingly rejected Pakistan’s proposal for a mutual “Strategic Restraint Arrangement”.
- Its leadership has often threatened to cross the Line of Control and “occupy” Azad Kashmir. I want to say in clear words that Pakistan will respond to any Indian aggression in the most decisive manner (withdrawal of PoK).
- To ensure lasting peace, India must withdraw the unilateral and illegal steps taken since 5 August 2019 and negotiate a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
