Pakistan likely to suspend Internet in the Capital : Mobile phone and internet services are likely to be shut down in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad and many cities of Punjab on Sunday (November 24). According to Pakistan’s news agency Dawn, Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has issued a statement on Saturday (23 November). In the statement issued, the ministry said that based on the feedback received from the district administration, it can take a decision to shut down mobile services and WiFi.
According to Dawn, citizens of Pakistan were facing problems in accessing the Instagram app and sending and receiving voice messages and photos on WhatsApp on Saturday (November 23).

Sources told Dawn that mobile and data services will be suspended in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Islamabad on Sunday (November 24) morning.
What did the telecom company official say?
“This situation is similar to the general election day in February this year. It is also possible that all digital systems may be shut down at any time,” a senior executive of a Pakistani telecom company told Dawn.
He further said, “Any request sent by any district administration can be forwarded to the PTA by the Interior Ministry of Pakistan, which will issue instructions to the telecom companies.
At the same time, an official of another mobile company said that internet and mobile services may be partially suspended in Islamabad. However, it is expected that landline telephone and WiFi connections will not be suspended.
