Secret meeting between Canada and Doval on Lawrence Bishnoi, US report claims

Amidst the ongoing tension between Canada and India, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s new allegations have increased the tension further. Now he says that India is taking the help of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang to attack Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and Khalistani leaders. Meanwhile, a report in the American newspaper Washington Post has claimed that a secret meeting was held between India and Canada last month. Indian Security Advisor Ajit Doval was in Singapore last week, where he had a secret meeting with Canadian officials. In this meeting, Canadian officials talked about Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Lawrence Bishnoi has come into limelight regarding the murder case of senior Maharashtra leader and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) MLA Baba Siddiqui. He is currently in jail, but he carries out incidents while sitting in jail with his more than 700 shooters and his network extends to the criminals. Lawrence Bishnoi gang is also suspected to be involved in the murder of Baba Siddiqui. Meanwhile, the Canadian government has started accusing India of the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and the attack on other Khalistani leaders. He says that at the behest of India, Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates are doing all this in Canada.

The report claims that in the meeting with Ajit Doval, the Canadian government has emphasized on the involvement of Lawrence Bishnoi. A Canadian official was quoted as saying that during the meeting, Ajati Doval first acted as if he did not know Lawrence Bishnoi. Later he admitted that Lawrence Bishnoi carries out incidents like violence and attacks even while sitting in jail. This meeting lasted five hours, in which apart from Canada’s Security Advisor Natalie Drouin, Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison and senior members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were also present.

The report said that Canadian officials told Ajit Doval that they are thinking of making public the details regarding the involvement of four Indian officials in the Nijjar murder case as the investigation in this case is to be held next month. However, Ajit Doval said that India rejects any Canadian allegations of India’s link to Nijjar’s murder or instigating violence in Canada.

Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was murdered last year. Canada has been alleging Indian links in his murder. He has claimed to be directly involved in the murder of six diplomats including Indian High Commissioner in Canada Sanjay Verma. Due to this, on Monday (October 14, 2024) he asked Indian diplomats to leave the country. On this action of Canada, the Indian government also ordered 6 Canadian diplomats to leave the country. Also, the Indian Foreign Ministry strongly rejected Canada’s allegations and said that this is its political agenda.
