Serial blasts again in Lebanon, after pager now blasts in radio, 3 dead and many injured

Lebanon Radio Blast: A new incident between Israel and Hamas war in the Middle East has increased tension in the region. After the pager blast in Lebanon on Tuesday (17 September 2024), now two blasts took place again in the capital Beirut on Wednesday (18 September). The blasts that took place on Wednesday have happened in electronic devices. It is being told on social media that this time there have been blasts in laptops, walkie-talkies and mobiles.

More than 100 injured in radio blasts

According to a Reuters report, handheld radios used by Hezbollah have exploded in the south of the country and the southern suburbs of the capital. According to the report, one of the blasts took place near the funeral ceremony organized by Hezbollah for those killed yesterday (17 September 2024). The incident comes after nearly 3,000 people were injured and 12 people were killed in pager explosions in Lebanon on Tuesday. According to a report by Al Hadath TV channel, at least 100 people were injured in radio explosions in Lebanon.

According to a Reuters report, Hezbollah had purchased hand-held radios five months ago, around the same time as the pagers. According to the report, three people were killed on Wednesday when a hand-held radio device exploded. Hezbollah on Tuesday accused Israel of carrying out these attacks. Hezbollah has vowed to retaliate against Israel.

Hezbollah responded on Wednesday with rocket attacks on Israeli artillery positions in southern Lebanon. This was Lebanon’s first direct attack since the pager attacks. The pager blasts have further increased tensions in the region, which is already tense due to cross-border clashes between Hezbollah and Israel.
