Sheikh Hasina’s return has become impossible! Party may be banned, complaint filed in ICT in this matter

Sheikh Hasina: The troubles of ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are going to increase further. A petition requesting to ban and cancel the registration of the Awami League party led by Sheikh Hasina was filed in the High Court on Monday (August 19). The petition cited the party’s alleged involvement in the killing of students during protests in Bangladesh earlier this month.

Apart from this, a complaint was filed on Monday (August 19) in the International Criminal Tribunal for Crimes (ICTT) against Sheikh Hasina and 26 others, including former members of her cabinet, for alleged genocide and crimes against humanity.

Request to cancel registration

According to the UNB news agency, the petition filed in the High Court also requested a ban on the Awami League and cancellation of its registration as a political party for the mass killing of student protesters during the anti-discrimination student movement.

In the petition, he requested the concerned authorities to change the names of institutions established in the name of former Prime Minister Hasina (76) and order the return of Rs 11 lakh crore allegedly deposited abroad to the country.

According to reports, Mohammad Abul Hasan, father of Shahriar Hasan Alvi, who was killed during the recent anti-discrimination student movement, filed a complaint with the ICT investigation agency against Sheikh Hasina (76), her 27 colleagues and 500 unidentified people.

The complaint names other key accused and former ministers Obaid ul Qadir, Rashid Khan Menon, Hasan ul Haq Inu and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdullah Al Mamun. Amid the anti-government student movement, Sheikh Hasina left the country and came to India after resigning from her post on August 5.
