Situation is continuously worsening in Pakistan, Imran Khan’s supporters took to the streets with these three demands

The protests in the country regarding the release of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan from jail are not stopping. On Sunday, Imran Khan, while appealing for protest from jail, had asked his party workers to join the protest on November 24 or leave the party. Imran Khan has named the protest taking place in the country as “Final Call” regarding his release. After Imran Khan’s appeal, Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters of D Chowk have gathered in Islamabad. D Chowk is the same place, around which many important government buildings of the country, PM Office, Parliament, Supreme Court and Rashtrapati Bhavan are located.

There have been violent clashes with thousands of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, in which at least nine people have died. After this, the army has been deployed in the country under Article 245 of the Constitution. Even Pakistan Army has given orders to shoot at site protesters.

Imran Khan went to jail in this case

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan is imprisoned in Adiala jail since the month of August last year. He was declared an accused in the Toshakhana case by the Islamabad court on August 5, 2023, after which he was arrested and sent to jail.

24th November declared as the day of freedom from slavery

Imran Khan has described this protest as a fight for freedom. Imran Khan also wrote on social media, “24th November is the day of freedom from slavery. The country will have to decide whether to wear the yoke of slavery like Bahadur Shah Zafar or the crown of freedom like Tipu Sultan.” Making allegations on social media, Imran Khan wrote that putting him in jail is a political ploy to prevent him from coming back to power. His party workers are demanding re-election and they claim that there was rigging in the last election.

These are the three demands of PTI supporters

Imran Khan’s party and his supporters are protesting in Islamabad with three main demands. First- Imran Khan and his party workers should be released as soon as possible. Second- the results of the elections held in 2024 should be considered (in this election imran khan ‘s party had received huge support. Third- The 26th Constitutional Amendment Act, which reduces the power of the courts in the Parliament, should be reverted.

Maintaining law and order is a big challenge

Due to the spread of unrest across the country, maintaining law and order has become a big challenge for the government. The situation has become more serious due to the violent attitude of the protesters and the strictness of the security forces. Pakistan is currently going through the most difficult phase in its political and social history.
