Strict Hijab law in Iran, if you violate dress code, you will get direct death sentence

Iran New Hijab Laws: Iran is known for its strict laws. Let us tell you that Iran has recently implemented new laws regarding hijab which have become a cause of controversy. According to these laws, if women violate the rules of hijab, they can even be given death penalty. Under Article 60 of the new law, guilty women can be punished with fine, whipping or harsh jail sentence.

If a woman violates this law more than once, she may have to face jail up to 15 years or death sentence. Apart from this, Iranian authorities have also announced the opening of a controversial hijab clinic whose purpose is to enforce the rules of hijab.

Strict action will be taken against foreign media and organizations

According to the Indian Express report, if any foreign media or organization promotes anti-hijab views in Iran, it may have to face up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to 12,500 pounds. Also, if anyone tries to stop or interfere in the arrest of a woman, he will also be punished. The government of Iran has made it clear that such persons can be directly put in jail.

Women protested against Hijab law in 2022

Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, it was made mandatory for women in Iran to wear hijab in public places. Despite this, in 2022, there were large-scale protests across the country against these hijab laws. The main reason for this protest was the death in police custody of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini on 16 September 2022.

According to the information, Mahsa Amini was arrested by the moral police for violating the dress code. After his death, there were widespread protests across the country in which hundreds of people were killed. After these incidents, the government arrested thousands of people to suppress many protests and now two years later, the government has implemented even stricter hijab laws.

Global protests broke out against new laws

These new laws implemented in Iran have become the cause of controversy not only within the country but also at the international level. Human rights organizations and the global community have protested against these laws considering them a violation of women’s rights. They say that this step violates the freedom and rights of women. However, the Iranian government says that the purpose of these laws is to maintain the sanctity of the culture of hijab in the society and to motivate women to adopt a particular type of dress code.
