Suspect arrested in knife attack in Germany, Islamic State claims responsibility – India TV Hindi

Police have detained a 26-year-old suspect in a knife attack in the western German city of Solingen on Friday. The suspect has been detained nearly 24 hours after the attack. A minor is also in custody

Also on Saturday, police said they had made a second arrest as part of a police operation at a home for refugees in Solingen. Police said they could not provide further details about the man or his connection to the incident. Police also detained a minor who they say may be connected to the attack, but the perpetrator is still at large.

The terrorist group, in a statement on its Telegram account, described the perpetrator of the attack as a soldier of the Islamic State and said that he carried out the attack to take revenge against a specific community in Palestine and other places.

Interior Minister Nancy Fayser said authorities were making every effort to capture the attacker. Police conducted a search operation throughout the day. The minor detained is 15 years old and police are investigating his possible connection to the attacker.
