Suspense continues regarding Nasrallah’s funeral! Hezbollah is not even mourning due to fear of Israel

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, was recently killed in an airstrike by an Israeli army. His last rites are to be performed today. Meanwhile, the first public address of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is also to be held. Hezbollah is afraid about Nasrallah’s funeral, because they are also afraid of Israeli attacks during this time.

Due to continuous Israeli attacks, Hezbollah is unable to decide whether to organize Nasrallah’s funeral publicly or not. For this reason, many Hezbollah commanders have been buried secretly in the past. It is feared that the same may be seen in Nasrallah’s case also.

Why the discussion of the word Tashrih during the funeral of Hassan Nasrallah
A word ‘Tasreeh’ is much discussed during the funeral of Hassan Nasrallah. This is an Urdu word, which means ‘to give respect to someone, to elevate someone to a position or to make someone superior’. Tashreeah is the religious process that is performed before the cremation of a dead body. This process can be done with the real body or it can also be done with the symbolic body.

In this an Imam prays for the deceased and this can be done even without the presence of the dead body. For example, after the death of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, the same procedure was done in Tehran, while his body was later buried in his hometown Kerman.

Hezbollah’s new chief and the atmosphere of fear
Due to Israeli attacks, Hezbollah is now taking any step cautiously. According to Hezbollah sources, due to fear of Israel they are unable to give proper respect to Nasrallah. There is discussion within Hezbollah that Nasrallah could be buried secretly.

Where will Nasrallah’s body be buried?
There is speculation about Nasrallah’s burial. According to some reports, he may be buried in Lebanon, while some reports suggest that he may be buried next to Imam Hussein in Karbala, Iraq. However, no official statement has come yet from Hezbollah or Iran in this regard.
