India Canada Relations: Amidst the dispute with India, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is seen surrounded in his own house. His own MP has demanded his resignation. Also, disgruntled Liberal MP groups are collectively trying to remove him. Longtime Liberal MP Sean Casey publicly criticized Trudeau.
“The message I’m putting out is loud and clear and even more so as time goes on,” he bluntly declared Tuesday (Oct. 15) during an interview with David Cochrane on CBC News Network’s Power & Politics. will become stronger, that is [ट्रूडो] It’s time to go and I agree.”
‘Voters are not listening to Trudeau’
He also said Trudeau should step down because he has heard from voters, “They have ignored him (the prime minister) and want him gone.” He said voters in his constituency have “disappeared” from Trudeau. In that conversation, he said that even though Trudeau’s work over the past nine years has been truly transformative, “voters are no longer listening to him.”
Charlottetown also admitted that she had already informed the PM about the current situation during a private phone call in July.
Many other MPs are also demanding Trudeau’s resignation.
Casey is reportedly the first MP to publicly urge the Prime Minister of Canada to step down before the next election and give the Liberals a fighting chance. Even before this, many MPs have demanded his resignation but no one said it publicly.
During the interview, he also admitted that he was aware of a series of meetings being held at Parliament Hill following his defeat in the Toronto-St. Paul by-election in June, but that he had not personally participated in them.
