Earlier on Sunday, while talking to reporters in ‘Air Force One’, Trump said that he has spoken to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on this matter and has asked Canada to intensify efforts to control the fire. Trump said, “The conversation was good, but I told him you have to stop these fires from poisoning our air. Our air has become poisonous.”

Trump suggested to help Canada

Stating that the US is ready to help Canada deal with the wildfires, Trump suggested that Ottawa should compensate Washington financially for the inconvenience caused by the smoke. He said, “If we can help them, we will. But maybe they should give us some compensation or something? Or should we impose some tariffs?” Trump further claimed that wildfire smoke has disrupted commercial operations in some parts of the US, especially Michigan. He said that due to poor air quality there, factories and workplaces had to stop operations for some time.
