Syria War: Syrian rebel groups have claimed that they have captured the capital Damascus. Many media outlets, citing rebel forces, reported that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has left the country. According to the Britain-based war monitoring organization Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Syrian rebel groups said that rebel fighters entered Damascus early on Sunday. Meanwhile, US President-elect Donald Trump criticized the situation in Syria. A big statement has been given regarding this. He has said that now there should be a ceasefire as soon as possible. For this he has also sought help from China.
Donald Trump said this
Donald Trump wrote on social media, "Assad is gone. He has fled his country. Even his patron Vladimir Putin has no interest in protecting him. Russia has no interest in Syria. One reason for this is the war with Ukraine. 600,000 Russian soldiers are injured or dead in this war. This war should never have started. Russia and Iran are in a weak position at present. Russia has become weak because of the war with Ukraine. At the same time, Iran has become weak due to Israel’s success in the war.
He further said that he would now like to prepare Ukraine for an agreement. Because of this war they have lost 400,000 of their soldiers. Now there should be an immediate ceasefire and talks should start. Too many lives are being wasted unnecessarily. A lot of families have been destroyed and if this continues it could get much worse. I know Vladimir very well. It is time for them to act. China can help. The world is waiting!
Syrian PM appeals
Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi Jalali immediately after the rebels claimed to have entered Damascus Facebook But said in a video published that he is ready to ‘cooperate’ with any leadership elected by the people and appealed to citizens not to vandalize public properties.
