American reports informed that on April 9, 2026 (secret location – OPSEC) MQ-4C crashed. There has been no injury to any employee. In a separate report, Xinhua News Agency, citing CBS News, said that the United States has lost 24 MQ-9 Reaper drones to Iran amid increasing tensions around the Strait of Hormuz since April 1. The report further states that the estimated cost of these losses is 720 million USD. A single MQ-9 Reaper drone can cost 30 million USD or more.

MQ-9 Reaper developed by General Atomic Aeronautical Systems is a remotely controlled drone. It is used to collect secret information, carry out surveillance operations and other important operations. It is also capable of accurate attacks.

This MQ-4C Triton was manufactured by Northrop Grumman. This is a high flying and long lasting drone. It is taken from the RQ-4 Global Hawk system.

The MQ-4C Triton operates for more than 24 hours at altitudes over 50,000 ft. Its range is approximately 7,400 nautical miles. It has a 360-degree multi-intelligence sensor suite. It helps in monitoring large areas and detecting threats faster.
