‘We were born in this country, we will die here…’, an emotional appeal by Hindus on the attacks in Bangladesh

According to media reports, Hindus are being continuously targeted in Bangladesh. People of the Hindu community are being attacked, arson and looting are being done. Now Bangladesh Hindu Jagran Manch has started a protest against this. Thousands of Hindus gathered in Shahbagh in the capital Dhaka on Friday and raised their voice against the violence. According to the report of Dhaka Tribune, voices were raised against the attack on Hindus here. The organizers said that 4 Hindu villages have been burnt in Dinajpur, due to which many Hindus have become helpless. They are forced to take refuge in the border areas.

‘We have not flown here, we will not leave the country’
According to the report, the number of Hindus protesting at Shahbagh Square was in thousands. In this rally, the Hindu community also put forward some demands. These included the establishment of a minority ministry, formation of a minority protection commission, strict laws to prevent attacks against minorities and allocation of 10 percent parliamentary seats for minorities.

The protesters had gathered in front of the National Press Club at 3 pm. In the rally, a Hindu leader said that we were born in this country, this country belongs to everyone. The Hindus here will not leave the country. This is also the birthplace of our ancestors. We have not come here flying. This is not anyone’s father’s country. He further said that even if I die, I will not leave my birthplace. During this time, people also held pamphlets with slogans written on them. In which it was written that there is no need for religious education, let us get educated in the education of humanity. It was written on a poster, the country will be independent only when the nation is educated with good education.
