Patongtarn Shinawatra will be the new leader of the Pheu Thai Party who will replace Shretha Thavisin. Patongtarn will now lead the same coalition, which includes military parties associated with the coup of the previous government.
Patongtarn Shinawatra is currently 37 years old and has become the youngest Prime Minister of the country. Along with this, she is the third member of the Shinawatra family who has become the PM of the country. Patongtarn Shinawatra has become the second woman Prime Minister of Thailand. Before Patongtarn, her billionaire father Thaksin Shinawatra and aunt Yingluck Shinawatra have been the Prime Minister of Thailand. Thaksin and Yingluck were ousted from power through a coup and had to flee the country. However, Thaksin returned to Thailand last year to form the government of the Pheu Thai Party.
