After the death of Hassan Nasrallah, the biggest question now arising is who will take command of Hezbollah? Experts believe that the command of Hezbollah, one of the world’s largest militia organizations, can be handed over to Hashem Safieddin, head of the Executive Council of Hezbollah.

Who is Hashem Saffieddin?

Hashem Saffieddine, Hassan Nasrallah’s cousin, was born in 1964 into a family in the coastal city of Tyre, in southern Lebanon. It was told that he was born in a family of Maulvis. It is also being said in the Israeli media that Hashem Safieddin was also present with Hassan Nasrallah when he was attacked but luckily he survived.

Safieddine was called back to Beirut just two years after Nasrallah took over as Hezbollah chief. This was the time when Safieddin was studying in Iran. After this, Safiddin was given a big responsibility and was given the leadership of the Executive Council of Hezbollah.

According to the report of Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, Hashem Safieddin has been watching all the work of Hezbollah for the last three years and his experience strengthens his claim. The work that Hashem Saffieddin has experience in handling also includes education, foreign investment and finance. Saffieddin is also currently leading investment groups operating in Lebanon, Arabia, Europe, Africa and Latin America.

Safidin, who has strong links with the military wing of Hezbollah, was included in the list of terrorists by the US in 2017. Safieddin is also said to have very good relations with Tehran. The important thing is that Iran’s support becomes very important to assume the responsibility of top leadership in Hezbollah and Hashem Safieddin has received education by living in Iran. According to Saudi newspaper reports, Safieddin’s brother Abdullah is posted in Tehran as a Hezbollah envoy.
