Tamil Nadu Politics: In Tamil Nadu, its relations with NDA’s ally AIADMK seem to be deteriorating. After reports of distance between the two parties, the AIADMK has now objected to BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit chief Annamalai criticizing the party. Along with this, he has raised questions on his intention.
AIADMK leader and former minister D Jayakumar also said, “If Annamalai is not stopped, the AIADMK will be forced to reconsider its alliance with the BJP.” Earlier in Tuticorin, BJP workers burnt pictures of AIADMK Chief EK Palaniswami. Now Annamalai has allegedly criticized AIADMK and its leader J Jayalalithaa.
Jayakumar mentioned the Lok Sabha elections
On this, Jayakumar accused the BJP leader of creating confusion in the alliance and asked whether the leaders of Delhi had allowed his statements. He said, “Is Annamalai’s intention that the AIADMK-BJP alliance should not win a single seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and Narendra Modi Can’t become prime minister again? Are their activities not in this direction?”
What did Jayakumar say about BJP
According to news agency PTI, Jayakumar said his criticism was unacceptable and asked why Annamalai, who is fond of talking about corruption, was silent on the allegations of corruption against the BJP in Karnataka. He indicated that the BJP alone cannot do anything in the state and said that his party’s strong presence in the state has ensured BJP’s victory in the 2021 assembly elections.
