Statues related to Pakistan’s surrender were vandalised in Bangladesh, Tharoor said – not worth apologising

Bangladesh News: After the coup in Bangladesh, the situation there is very bad. Minorities are being targeted in Bangladesh. The fundamentalists are attacking temples. Meanwhile, the protesters are now targeting national monuments. Meanwhile, the statues present at the 1971 Martyrs Memorial site in Mujibnagar have been vandalized.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has expressed concern over this incident. He has requested the interim government of Bangladesh to maintain law and order.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor expressed concern on social media

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor wrote on social media, ‘I am saddened to see such pictures of statues destroyed by anti-India rioters at the 1971 Martyrs Memorial Complex, Mujibnagar. This has happened after outrageous attacks on Indian cultural centers, temples and Hindu homes at many places. However, there were also reports of Muslim citizens protecting other minority homes and places of worship.’

Sad to see images like this of statues at the 1971 Shaheed Memorial Complex, Mujibnagar, destroyed by anti-India vandals. This follows disgraceful attacks on the Indian cultural centre, temples and Hindu homes in several places, even as reports came in of Muslim civilians… pic.twitter.com/FFrftoA81T

He further wrote, ‘The agenda of some agitators is very clear. It is necessary that Mohammad Yunus and his interim government take immediate steps to restore law and order in the interest of all Bangladeshis, every religion. India stands with the people of Bangladesh in this difficult time, but such anarchy can never be forgiven.’

Alert issued on the border

Hindus are being constantly attacked in Bangladesh. To escape these attacks, thousands of these people are trying to come to India. The protesters are targeting the houses and temples of Hindus. Thousands of people are reaching the India-Bangladesh border. To stop this infiltration, a large number of BSF has been deployed on the border. So that any kind of infiltration can be stopped.
