Who is Lord Harihara?

Harihar is the integration of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. Actually, in Hindu religion, Hari means Lord Vishnu and Har means Shiva. That means Harihar is the form of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. In this form, Lord Shiva and Vishnu are seen in half form in the same body.

Harihar form, even after the unification of Shiva and Vishnu, is worshiped for different qualities. Because while Shiva is called the god of destruction, Vishnu is the sustainer of the universe. This means that both destruction and preservation of the universe is necessary.

God said that this type of dispute should not happen and to resolve this dispute between Shaiva-Vaishnav, he took the incarnation of Harihar. In this incarnation, half of the body was Lord Shiva and the other half was Lord Vishnu.
