No tolerance policy on ragging in DU! Admission-degree canceled on misbehavior, criminal case will also be registered

DU No Tolerance Policy: Before the start of the new academic session, Delhi University has issued strict guidelines to completely stop ragging, teasing and indiscipline on the campus. The university has instructed all colleges, departments, hostels and related institutes to strengthen security arrangements and ensure strict adherence to anti-ragging rules. The administration has made it clear that no tolerance policy will now be adopted in cases of ragging and action ranging from suspension, expulsion, cancellation of admission, cancellation of degree to registering a criminal case can be taken against the students found guilty.

Surveillance will increase in DU campus also

The university has given instructions that regular monitoring will be maintained at hostels, canteens, common rooms, parking and other student activity areas. The help of NCC and NSS volunteers will also be taken as per requirement in the Vigilance Squad. Apart from this, the college has been asked to prominently display anti-ragging posters and helpline numbers in both Hindi and English languages ​​in the campus. Following the complaints of the students, instructions have also been given to install sealed complaint boxes and to make arrangements for helpline email and control room, so that the students can lodge complaints without any fear.

Control rooms will be built in North and South campus

The university administration has decided to operate a joint control room in North Campus and South Campus from July 28 to August 7. University administration and Delhi Police officials will be present in these control rooms, so that immediate action can be taken if any complaint of ragging or any indiscipline is received. Apart from this, DU has instructed every college and department to appoint a disciplinary resource person. Their information will have to be sent to the Proctor Office of the University, so that better coordination can be made in matters related to discipline. The Institute has also been advised to implement additional disciplinary provisions at its own level as per the rules of the University.

It will be necessary to carry ID card with you

The university has instructed students to keep their identity cards with them at all times. Entry into the campus will be ensured only on the basis of identity card. Also, the college has been asked to conduct surprise inspections at hostels, cafeterias and other public places from time to time. It has also been recommended to implement faculty mentor system to help the new students, so that they can easily adapt themselves in the university environment and can get guidance in case of any problem.

Delhi Police will also remain alert

In the meeting, Delhi Police has assured full cooperation to the university. Police patrolling will be increased outside colleges and hostels. Police pickets will also be deployed if needed, while women policemen will also be deployed for the safety of girl students. The university has also given instructions to increase strictness on entry of outsiders into the campus.
