‘There is no cure for people like Nana Patekar’, Tanushree Dutta gets angry over report on sexual exploitation of women

A Malayalam actress was raped by some people in a moving car while travelling from Thrissur to Kochi. Actor Dileep’s name is also included in this. A lot has been mentioned in the report of Justice Hema Committee regarding this. Now Tanushree Dutta has also targeted Nana Patekar. Let us tell you that Tanushree Dutta has also accused Nana of sexual exploitation.

Talking to News18, the actress said, ‘I don’t understand these committees and reports. I think they are useless. It took them seven years to make a report on what happened in 2017? What is the meaning of this new report? They just had to arrest the accused and implement a strong law and order.’

The actress further said, ‘I remember hearing about the Vishakha Committee which was formed with a lot of guidelines, but what happened after that? The names of the committee just keep changing. People like Nana (Nana Patekar) and Dilip are narcissistic psychopaths. There is no cure for such people. Only an evil and vindictive person can do what these people have done. I don’t care about these committees. I don’t trust the system. It seems that with these committees and reports they are wasting our time instead of doing real work.’

The actress further said, ‘It seems that with these reports and committees, they are just wasting our time instead of doing real work. Having a safe workplace is a must for any woman or any human being.’

Speaking on the insecurity of women in the Malayalam film industry, the actress said, ‘Who follows all this paperwork? People who want to break the law will still break it. All these predators are mentally ill. They are not in their right minds.’

Tanushree also spoke about Parvathy Thiruvothu who did not get many opportunities in the industry. Tanushree said, ‘This is the strangest thing. Actors look at their female counterparts (actresses) as second class citizens. Female artists are expected to stay in line, behave in a certain way, and not open their mouths much.’

Let us tell you that Tanushree had made serious allegations against Nana during the #MeToo India movement. The actress had said that in 2008, the actor had misbehaved with her on the sets of the film ‘Horn OK Please’.
