How to prepare to get a job in Railways! Follow these tips from today itself


Many youth dream of getting a job in Railways. This government job not only provides stability, but it also comes with good salary and many other facilities. Recruitment continues for various posts in Railways, such as Group D, Loco Pilot, Technical and Non-Technical categories. If you also want to get a job in Railways, then you will have to prepare in the right direction.

1. Understand the exam pattern and syllabus

First of all, you should completely understand the exam pattern and syllabus of the post you are preparing for. There are different syllabus for Group D, ALP, NTPC, and other exams by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). It contains subjects like General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General Science.

Group D: It contains questions related to Maths, General Intelligence and General Awareness.
NTPC: It consists of subjects like General Awareness, General Intelligence, Reasoning and Mathematics.
ALP: For this it is necessary to have knowledge of technical subjects, along with this one also has to prepare for Maths and Reasoning.

2. Make a time table

It is very important to make a good time table for the preparation of any competitive exam. Give time to every subject of the day and practice all the subjects regularly. Give more time to difficult topics and keep revising easy topics also regularly.

3. Solve previous year papers and mock tests

To get success in Railway examination, it is very important to solve previous year question papers. This will help you understand the pattern of the exam. Also, give mock tests regularly. With mock tests you can identify your weaknesses and improve them. It also improves your time management.

4. Focus on General Awareness

General knowledge is an important subject in railway examinations. It contains questions related to current affairs, history, geography, Indian Constitution, science and technology. You should develop the habit of reading newspapers daily and update information about current affairs regularly.

5. Practice Maths and Reasoning

Mathematics and reasoning questions in railway examination are time consuming. Therefore, it is important to practice them well. Especially practice questions related to topics like time and distance, time and work, percentage, ratio and proportion, puzzles and series.

6. Technical preparation

If you are preparing for loco pilot or technical category, then you will have to prepare for technical subjects also. For this you should have a good understanding of the subjects of your respective trade. Questions related to electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering can be asked in these examinations.

7. Pay attention to health and physical fitness

There is also a physical fitness test in Railways for some posts. Therefore, it is important to maintain your physical fitness. For this, exercise regularly and pay attention to your fitness. Especially for posts like Group D and RPF, physical fitness is tested.

8. Keep in mind negative marking

There is negative marking in railway examinations, that is, marks are deducted for giving wrong answers. Therefore, answer only those questions about which you are completely sure. Avoid answering all questions without thinking.
