Panshul Bansal cried for 2 hours after the exam was cancelled, then made such a comeback that he became AIR-2

Panshul Bansal of Delhi, who has secured All India Rank (AIR) 2 in NEET UG 2026, has set an example for lakhs of students with his hard work and courage. Panshul, who dreamed of becoming a doctor since childhood, secured second rank in the country in his very first attempt this year. In a special conversation with ABP News, he shared his preparation, difficulties faced during the examination and the story behind his success.

I had this dream since childhood

Panshul told that he had dreamed of becoming a doctor in his childhood itself. Keeping this goal in mind, he started his studies to build a strong foundation. He says that basic preparation matters most for success in any major competitive examination.

Started preparation from 8th itself

He told that to lay a strong foundation of mathematics and science, he started regular and serious studies from 8th class itself. After this, from class 10th he completely focused on NEET preparation. In the same year, he also gave the 12th board examination and along with it he continued preparing for NEET.

When Panshul kept crying for two hours

However, in this journey there came a moment which completely shocked him. Panshul told that when he got the news of cancellation of the first exam of NEET UG 2026, he could not control himself. He said that at that time he got a huge shock and he kept crying continuously for about two hours. He felt that his hard work of many months had gone in vain. However, after some time he controlled himself. He decided that nothing would be achieved by sitting disappointed. After this he started preparing again with more confidence than before. If he had given up at that time, perhaps he would not have achieved this success today. He studied again with all his heart and worked on his weaknesses.

Gave full credit to family

Panshul gave the biggest credit for his success to his family, especially his father. He said that his father stood by him at every step. Whenever he felt stressed or lacked confidence during studies, his family always motivated him to move ahead.

How were the exams?

Regarding the exam, Panshul told that this time the Physics paper was very long. Many students felt short of time, but due to regular practice and better time management, they completed the entire paper on time. He believes that studying alone is not enough, but it is equally important to utilize time properly during exams. During preparation, he studied regularly every day and did not leave any subject incomplete for a long time. Wherever there was weakness, it was improved by giving extra time.

Gave this lesson to other students

Panshul said that patience, hard work and positive thinking are most important for success in any competitive examination. Even if you face failure or circumstances turn against you, you should not lose courage. He said that sometimes difficulties give us an opportunity to become better. If the goal is clear and hard work continues then success is definitely achieved.
