Ameesha Patel Says OTT Platforms Are Full Of ‘Homosexuality’, Says Fans Want ‘Clean Entertainme’

New Delhi: Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol are awaiting the release of their upcoming film ‘Gadar 2’. Recently, during the promotions of ‘Gadar 2’, Ameesha joined the debate about racy content programming on streaming platforms suggesting that Indian audiences are hungry for ‘clean’ entertainment, which is not found on OTT platforms. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she suggested that content on OTT platforms is ‘full of homosexuality’ which forces parents to supervise and use child locks on TVs.

“People are waiting for a good, clean cinema. The era where you could make movies that a grandchild could sit and watch with a grandparent is completely missing. OTT for sure doesn’t give you that. Because OTT is full of, homosexuality, gay-lesbianism… Scenes that you have to cover your kids’ eyes or actually put a child lock on your television so they can’t access those platforms. It’s not something you really want your kids to watch.” Ameesha told Bollywood Hungama.

“Indians couldn’t travel that much, we didn’t have that much fashion. Everything that you wanted was through cinema… We didn’t even have an organized music industry. You depended on film music; The costumes, fashion, everything came from cinema, and I think people are missing that essence. Gadar, they feel, is an answer to that,” she added.

Speaking about ‘Gadar 2’, Ameesha shared that the filmmakers have tried to retain the ‘essence’ of the first film in ‘Gadar 2’. It’s got the family values, it’s got the heart-wrenching moments, the great action, the dialogues, the music; everything you expect from Gadar is there.”

‘Gadar 2’ is directed by Anil Sharma. The film will be released in theaters on August 11, 2023, exactly 22 years after the first film became a blockbuster. In fact, ‘Gadar’ was one of the biggest movies of 2001 earning some Rs. 133 crores after being made on a budget of Rs. 19 Cr.
