First MI then last Delhi, Shahrukh Khan bought KKR out of compulsion

Shah Rukh Khan IPL KKR: Shahrukh Khan, known as the King Khan of Bollywood, is the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. Although actresses Juhi Chawla and Jai Mehta are also part of the team, people know KKR only from Shahrukh Khan’s team. Many people like KKR just because its owner is Shahrukh Khan. But what if we tell you that buying KKR in IPL was not Shahrukh Khan’s first choice and he chose this team out of compulsion? So you won’t believe it, but it’s true.

Yes, you read it right. Shahrukh Khan first wants to buy Mumbai Indians in IPL. Then Royal Challengers Bangalore was his second choice. Even KKR team was not included in Shahrukh’s list, but due to compulsion and not getting any option, he bought the team.

IPL founder Lalit Modi revealed that Shahrukh Khan had bought Kolkata Knight Riders out of compulsion. Speaking on podcast with Raj Shamani, Lalit Modi said, “Shahrukh Khan Were eager to bid. Mumbai Indians was his first choice, but Ambani took the team. Bengaluru was at second place, but Mallya took the team. Kolkata was not even at number three, Delhi Capitals was at third but it was taken by GMR. Next in line was Kolkata.”

KKR has won the IPL title thrice

Let us tell you that KKR team has won the IPL title thrice so far. The team won the first IPL title in 2012. After this the team won the IPL title for the second time in 2014. Then the team won the third title in the last season i.e. IPL 2024.
