WTC 2025 Final Qualification Scenario: The points table of the World Test Championship 2025 seemed to be one-sided till a few days ago. India had a good lead over the other teams, but after the defeat of Team India in two matches against New Zealand, all the equations of the final have changed. Now there is a direct competition between not two or three but five teams for the final. Know here the maximum number of points each team can achieve in the World Test Championship table.

Which are the five teams?

-India is currently on top in the table of World Test Championship, whose points percentage is 62.82. Team India still has to play 6 more matches in the schedule of the current Test Championship. If the Indian team has to ensure a place in the finals, it will have to register at least four wins in 6 matches. Now after the remaining matches, India’s maximum points percentage can be 74.56.

Australia is currently in second place with a points percentage of 62.50. If Kangaroo team wins all the matches then it will finish on top because its maximum points percentage can go up to 76.32. Currently, Australia has to play the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India at home. Apart from this, it also has 2 test matches against Sri Lanka.

-Sri Lanka recently defeated New Zealand 2-0 in the two-Test series. In fact, after that series, Sri Lanka’s hopes for the final have been raised. Sri Lanka is currently placed at third position with a points percentage of 55.56 and it can go up to a maximum of 69.23. Sri Lanka still has to play one match against South Africa and two against Australia.

-New Zealand was also present at the bottom positions in the table till a few days ago, but after winning two matches against India, the Kiwi team is hopeful of playing the second final. The maximum points percentage of New Zealand, the first winning team in WTC history, can go up to 64.29.

-The path to the final is looking very difficult for South Africa because to go to the title clash, it has to win all its remaining matches but even after that it may have to depend on other teams. Africa still has to play one test match against Bangladesh and two each against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
