If you want to avoid stomach infection during monsoon, change these habits today, doctors suggest these easy solutions.

Monsoon Stomach Infection: The rainy season definitely brings with it cool winds and pleasant weather, but this season also increases the risk of many stomach related diseases. During monsoon, cases of infections like vomiting, diarrhea, food poisoning, gastroenteritis, typhoid and hepatitis A increase rapidly.

The biggest reason for this is contamination of water during rains, rapid growth of bacteria and viruses due to moisture and rapid spoilage of food kept in the open. Health experts say that this infection can be avoided to a great extent by adopting some small precautions during monsoon. In such a situation, let us tell you today that if you also want to avoid stomach infection in monsoon, then which habits should you change today itself.

First of all pay attention to drinking water

Most of the stomach infections during monsoon are caused by contaminated water. During heavy rains, bacteria can reach sewer water and dirty drinking water sources. In such a situation, it is not necessary that even clean looking water is completely safe. According to doctors, one should always drink boiled, filtered or packed water. If there is any doubt about the quality of water, a good water purifier or chlorination tablet can be used. Doctors also advise that one should avoid drinking outside water or drinks. And it is more beneficial to always keep drinking water with you.

Fresh and homemade food is the safest.

According to doctors, due to rain Season One should avoid eating food kept in the open for a long time. Due to moisture, bacteria and other microorganisms grow rapidly, which can cause food contamination. Experts say that freshly prepared food at home is the safest. One should avoid eating loose food items available on roadside, pre-cut fruits and snacks kept outside for a long time, as these have a higher risk of infection.

It is important to wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly

Often people use fruits and vegetables just by washing them with water, but such caution is not enough during monsoon. Soil, pesticides and many types of microorganisms can be present on them. According to the doctor, fruits and vegetables should be cleaned thoroughly, if needed, they can also be cleaned by soaking them in vinegar water for a few minutes. Also, one should avoid consuming raw sprouts and pre-cut fruits, because there is a high risk of bacteria growing in them.

The habit of washing hands can make a big difference

According to doctors, washing hands is the easiest and most effective way to prevent infection. Hands should be washed thoroughly with soap before cooking, after using the toilet and after coming from outside. At the same time, if a person suffers from diarrhea or vomiting, then do not let there be lack of water in the body. Eat light food and drink adequate amount of fluids. If there is a problem of high fever, bloody vomiting or diarrhea or if there is no relief for a few days, then one should immediately contact the doctor.
