Aftab Poonawala’s security may be reviewed, talk of him being the target of Lawrence gang

Shraddha Walkar Murder Case Update: Aftab Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha Walkar murder case in Delhi, is also reportedly the target of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Amidst such news, discussions have also started regarding the safety of accused Poonawala. Tihar Jail can review its security. An official source gave this information on Friday (November 15).

Aftab Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha Walkar murder case, is lodged in Tihar Jail since November 2022. He was arrested in connection with the murder of his ‘live-in partner’ Valkar (27) and cutting her body into 35 pieces and throwing it in the forest of Mehrauli.

Poonawala was kept in Tihar jail number 4.

Poonawala is currently kept in a solitary cell of Tihar Jail No. 4 due to fear of danger. According to media reports and social media posts, Poonawala is the target of the Bishnoi gang, according to the disclosure made to the Mumbai Police by an accused arrested in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui in Maharashtra.

What did Tihar Jail say about Aftab Poonawala?

An official source from Tihar Jail said, “So far we have not received any information from the police or security agencies about any threat to Poonawala from the Lawrence gang. If we get any such information, we can review its security.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddiqui.

Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui (66) was shot dead by three assailants near the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui in Mumbai’s Bandra area on October 12. He was immediately taken to the hospital after being shot but his life could not be saved. Members of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang had taken responsibility for Siddiqui’s murder.

Lawrence Bishnoi is currently lodged in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat, while many of his associates are lodged in Tihar jail.
