Decision to give term insurance of Rs 10 lakh to 3220 new lawyers in Delhi, CM Atishi announced

Delhi CM Atishi: Taking a big step, the AAP government has decided to provide family health insurance of Rs 5 lakh and term insurance of Rs 10 lakh to 3220 new lawyers under the Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme. This decision has been approved by CM Atishi.

The Delhi government is currently providing term insurance of Rs 10 lakh and medical insurance of Rs 5 lakh to more than 27,000 lawyers under its Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme and now this number will increase to about 31,000.

On this important decision, Chief Minister Atishi said that the AAP government has always worked for the betterment of lawyers and will continue to do so. He said that the profession of lawyers of India is very important, they provide justice to the people by implementing the Constitution in its true form.

It was also said that under the Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme, the Delhi government provides term insurance of Rs 10 lakh and medical insurance of Rs 5 lakh to the lawyers. He shared that so far more than 27,000 lawyers have been enrolled in the Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme and now this number will increase to about 31,000.

Proved helpful during Corona
He said that in 2019, the Delhi government started the Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme for the betterment of lawyers and provides a fund of Rs 50 crore annually. Under this, all the lawyers enrolled get term insurance of Rs 10 lakh and now health insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh and soon after the launch of this scheme, this scheme proved to be very helpful for our lawyer colleagues during Corona.

‘We have been fulfilling all our responsibilities towards lawyers’
CM Atishi said, “Thousands of lawyers and their families took advantage of medical insurance.” Atishi Said that as a government, we have been fulfilling all our responsibilities towards the lawyers and will continue to do so. He said that we will always keep working for the betterment of lawyers. Let us tell you that under this scheme, term insurance of Rs 10 lakh is given to the enrolled lawyers.

‘Medical insurance of Rs 5 lakh is given’
Also, under Group Medical Insurance, medical insurance of Rs 5 lakh is given to lawyers, their spouse and two dependent children up to 25 years of age. Also, it is mandatory that the lawyer should be registered with the Bar Council of Delhi and should be a voter of Delhi.
