Hindu mahapanchayat to be held on Thursday in Uttarkashi postponed, Section 144 is applicable till June 19

Uttarakhand News: The Hindu Mahapanchayat to be held on June 15 in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand has been canceled indefinitely by all the organisations. A mahapanchayat was called in Purola by the Uttarakhand State Movement Council, Purola Vyapar Sangh, Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad. All of them have postponed the mahapanchayat to be held in Purola for an indefinite period. Rajpal Pawar, spokesperson of the Uttarakhand State Movement Council, said that at present all the organizations together have postponed the mahapanchayat.

At the same time, Rajpal Pawar also said that he will definitely close the market after meeting all the organizations because the administration has implemented Section 144 by adopting repressive policy. Significantly, a mahapanchayat was to be held on June 15 in Purola, Uttarkashi amidst the ruckus of alleged love jihad. Earlier, the district administration had imposed section 144 from June 14 to June 19 in Purola Nagar area. In view of the Mahapanchayat, three families of the Muslim community living in the city went out of the city for a few days. These three families went out of Purola city on Wednesday morning after locking their houses.

‘Section 144 will be strictly followed’

SDM Purola Devanand Sharma informed about the imposition of section 144. At the same time, ADG Law and Order also talked about imposing NSA on those who spread unrest. Meanwhile, three more Muslim families moved out of Purola. CM Dhami has appealed to everyone to maintain peace. Let us inform that since the incident of alleged love jihad, Hindu organizations have been continuously protesting. On June 15, Hindu organizations had announced the mahapanchayat. However, the district administration did not allow this. The district administration imposed Section 144 in Purola from June 14 to June 19, that is, for 6 days. Purola’s SDM Devanand Sharma says that section 144 will be strictly followed.
