India vs New Zealand Women Cricket ODI Series Announced: In the first match of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, India lost to New Zealand by 58 runs. Now according to Cricbuzz, New Zealand women’s team is going to tour India for a 3-match ODI series immediately after the World Cup. This series will be part of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship 2022-2025. In the table of ODI Championship, India is currently at fifth position and New Zealand is at sixth position.

The India vs New Zealand series was scheduled to take place last year, but due to the busy schedule of the Indian team, the series was postponed. All 3 matches of the upcoming India-New Zealand ODI series will be played in Ahmedabad. The first match will be played on 24 October, while the second and third matches will be played on 27 and 29 October respectively. This series will be very important from New Zealand’s point of view because by winning it, it can come closer to qualifying for the World Cup next year.

India has qualified for the World Cup

The ICC Women’s ODI Championship is organized for the qualification of the World Cup. Since the next 50-over World Cup is to be held in India, being the host, Team India has already qualified for the World Cup. India is currently at fifth position in the table. At present, Australia is first with 28 points, while England, which is in second place, also has 28 points. South Africa currently has 23 points in third place.

Australia, England and South Africa have also qualified for the World Cup next year. Apart from India, other top-5 teams will also qualify directly for the World Cup. The remaining 4 teams will have to make a place in the World Cup tournament by participating in the qualifiers tournament.
