Karnataka CM’s wife ready to surrender Mooda sites, writes letter to Commissioner

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife BM Parvati has offered to surrender Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites. Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvati said in a letter to the Mooda Commissioner that she wants to surrender the 14 plots given to her at a different place in exchange of her 3 acres and 16 guntas of land.

In fact, the Karnataka High Court had upheld the approval given by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot in relation to alleged irregularities in the allotment of 14 plots to Parvati by MUDA. After this, a special court in Bengaluru ordered a Lokayukta inquiry. After this, Lokayukta filed FIR against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife B.M. The names of Parvati, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraju have been registered. Swami had purchased the land from Devaraju and later gifted it to Parvati.

Now ED has also entered this matter. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case against Siddaramaiah under PMLA.

What is the whole matter?

Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in Karnataka had implemented a scheme in 2009 for people who lost their land during development projects. Under this scheme, it was talked about giving 50 percent of the developed land to the people who lost their land. For this reason, this scheme later became famous by the name of 50:50.

This scheme was postponed by the BJP government in 2020. It is alleged that 3 acres and 16 guntas of land belonging to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife was acquired for the development program of this Muda, but without acquiring this land, the third phase of Devanur Development Plan was developed.

In this matter, CM Siddaramaiah wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Muda case will be fought as per the law. This is the first time that the opposition, scared of public support, has filed a politically motivated case against me.
