Mayawati Support UCC: A debate has been going on in the country for the last several days regarding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Gradually, the views of political parties have started coming to the fore on this issue. In this sequence, Chief of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati has given her support on Uniform Civil Code on Sunday (July 02). In a press conference in Lucknow, he said that his party does not oppose the UCC.

At the same time, he also criticized the BJP for the ‘politics’ of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Sunday said that her party is not against the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), which she believes will “promote communal harmony”.

10 big things of Mayawati’s press conference

1. The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said, “Our party (BSP) is not against the implementation of the UCC, but we do not support the way the BJP is trying to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the country. It is not right to politicize this issue and forcefully implement UCC in the country.”

2. Mayawati further says, “UCC will not weaken the country but will strengthen the country and it will also increase communal harmony…But people who believe in different religions live in the country. They have different practices and customs and this should not be ignored.”

3. He emphasized that UCC should not be implemented forcibly and there should be a consensus on the matter. Mayawati also alleged that the BJP was raising the issue to divert public attention from the controversial issues and problems faced by them.

4. The BSP chief said, “There should be no politics on the UCC…Article 44 of the Constitution clearly states that the state shall endeavor to ensure a Uniform Civil Code for citizens throughout the country.”

5. She further says, “Article 44 of the Constitution describes the attempt to make UCC but not to impose it. Therefore, keeping all these things in mind, BJP should have taken some step to implement UCC in the country. Our party is not against the implementation of UCC but does not agree with the way BJP and its government are implementing it in the country.

6. Shortly after Mayawati’s press conference, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Sunil Singh Sajan reacted to her remarks, saying, “The SP chief (Akhilesh Yadav) has been repeatedly saying what Mayawati has said, that the BJP will Trying to set the agenda. The SP is always against the agenda of hatred and division set by the BJP.

7. At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party has given its “principle” support to the UCC. The Congress has said it is “undesirable” at this stage. The opposition has targeted the Center in 2024. Lok Sabha Elections He has also accused of cashing in on the issue for political gains just before.

9. The central government can introduce the UCC bill during the monsoon session of Parliament. A meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee has been called on July 3 to know the opinion of the MPs regarding the Uniform Civil Code. BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Modi will preside over the meeting.
