After this, a message for deduction of challan is sent to the registered mobile number associated with that vehicle. In case of challan, it is necessary to make payment to the owner of the vehicle.

How much is the challan issued in India?

Different amounts are prescribed for violation of different traffic rules in the country. People have to pay only as per the fixed amount.

• If a person drives a vehicle while intoxicated, he is issued a challan of Rs 10,000 and 6 months imprisonment. On repeating this mistake, Rs 15,000 have to be paid and there can also be a punishment of two years.
• If a person drives without wearing a seat belt, the traffic police issues a challan of Rs 1000.
• If you do not follow the traffic signal, a challan ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 can be issued. Along with this, one may also have to serve jail sentence ranging from 6 months to one year.
