Terrorists want to terrorize Mumbai again? Alert of agencies increased vigilance, keep a close watch on religious places amid mock drill

Security was tightened in the country’s financial capital and Maharashtra’s Mumbai city late on Friday (September 27, 2024) night, when the city police was issued an alert of possible terrorist threats by central agencies. Sources told ABP News that after the latest alert, vigil has been increased at religious places and other crowded places in the city.

Mumbai Police informed, “We have been instructed to conduct “mock drills” at crowded places and religious places. All DCPs of the city have been asked to pay special attention to security arrangements in their respective zones.” Meanwhile, an official said that on Friday the police conducted a mock drill in Crawford Market area. This is an area where there is heavy crowd and there are also two major religious places.

Regarding the security drill, the police officially said that it was a security exercise but why is it suddenly being done like this? This was not stated clearly. Police further said, “In view of the upcoming festivals and elections, mock drills are being conducted at Crawford Market and other places in Mumbai.” Sources also said that all the temples in the city have been instructed to remain alert and have been asked to report any suspicious activity as a precautionary measure.
