BJP has been in power in Haryana for 10 years. However, this time in the assembly elections, it is facing two big challenges. On one hand, BJP is facing anti-incumbency and on the other hand, its own leaders are becoming a cause of trouble for it.

Professor Sanjay Kumar of CSDS (Delhi), a research institute related to social sciences and humanities, has tried to explain in great detail the two important points on which BJP’s game in Haryana can be spoilt.

According to political expert Prof. Sanjay Kumar, voters in Haryana are angry with the BJP and they want change at any cost. Moreover, BJP leaders are also upset due to not getting tickets. They can change parties. So far, more than three dozen BJP leaders have said goodbye to the party.

Prof. Sanjay Kumar believes that in Haryana, which has 90 assembly seats (any party needs 46 seats for majority), there will be a direct contest between Congress and BJP in most places. However, regional parties may not be able to win seats but they can change the equation.

According to political experts, “If the anti-BJP votes get divided in Haryana, they can spoil the electoral game of the Congress.” He believes that there are three big issues, which can prove to be the key to victory in the state. These include wrestlers, farmers and soldiers (Agniveer + unemployed).

Prof Sanjay Kumar, associated with CSDS-Lokniti, also raises the question that if BJP could not improve its performance in Haryana in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, then how will it improve its performance in the upcoming assembly elections?

Prof Sanjay Kumar said that removing Manohar Lal Khattar from the post of Haryana CM and making Nayab Singh Saini the new CM proves that the BJP has accepted that the people of the state are angry with it and it wants to reduce that anger through change.

By the way, if we look at the Lokniti-CSDS survey, it shows that the ability of BJP to garner votes on the basis of PM Narendra Modi’s image is much stronger in general elections than in assembly elections.

The results of the recent Lok Poll survey showed that this time Congress can get 58-65 seats in Haryana, while BJP can suffer a setback. It can get 20-29 seats and others are expected to get three to five seats.
