Himachal Pradesh News: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh in the Himachal Pradesh government is seen in action mode. The Urban Development Minister has taken strong cognizance of the negative impact of wires hanging unnecessarily on electricity poles in Shimla city on the beauty of the city.
Vikramaditya Singh said that in many areas under Shimla Municipal Corporation, many types of cable nets have been made on the electric poles. Taking strict cognizance, he said that this is adversely affecting the beauty of the city. Also, it is a serious issue from the security point of view. The Urban Development Minister directed the electricity board officials to remove these cable wires immediately. He has directed to submit a report in this regard within a week.
Mayor Surendra Chauhan raised the issue
Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh gave these instructions in a meeting held with Municipal Corporation Shimla and Urban Development Department. He was reviewing the developmental projects under construction in Shimla city. Earlier, about six months ago, Shimla city Mayor Surendra Chauhan had also called the representatives of all private companies to his office.
Here he had asked to remove the wires hanging unnecessarily as soon as possible. Initially this work was done fast, but after this the private companies started showing laxity in it. Mayor Surendra Chauhan raised this issue in front of the Urban Development Minister in the meeting. After this, the Urban Development Minister has issued strict instructions in this regard.
Review of works of Smart City Project
In this meeting held at the State Secretariat in Shimla, the Urban Development Minister also took information about the works being done under the Smart City Project. The Urban Development Minister has given instructions to complete the pending works as soon as possible. He asked to complete the work of parking, bridge and lift being built at various places in Shimla city soon.
In this meeting, Cabinet Minister Vikramaditya Singh asked all the councillors to mark suitable places for parking construction in the wards and send the proposal to the department soon, so that the parking problem in every ward of Shimla can be solved. He also discussed about setting up a club for senior citizens in Shimla city and building a playground for children at a suitable place in every ward.
