Why did Sukhbir Singh Badal resign even before the election of party president, know what it means

Sukhbir Singh Badal Resigns: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal has resigned from the post of party president on Saturday (16 November). He has submitted his resignation to the party’s working committee and the resignation will be discussed in the working committee meeting to be held on Monday. But the question is why he took this decision even before the election for the post of President in December.

In fact, Sukhbir Singh Badal’s resignation has come at a time when rebellious voices were being raised against Sukhbir Badal within the party. Some leaders of the party had opened a front in the month of June demanding the removal of Sukhbir Badal from the post of party president and have also launched a campaign named Shiromani Akali Dal Sudhar Lehar.

However, party leader Daljit Singh Cheema has said that this is a routine task because the election of the party president is to be held in December, hence Sukhbir Badal has already resigned.

Elections are in December
However, he said that the rebel group from the party which was demanding the resignation of Sukhbir Badal was wrong because even today most of the party leaders express confidence in the leadership of Sukhbir Badal. He has said that any party leader can take part in the election for party president in December, including Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Akal Takht Sahib has retired
Sukhbir Singh Badal has already been declared retired by Sri Akal Takht Sahib and his punishment is yet to be announced. Recently, Sukhbir Badal had gone to Shri Akal Takht Sahib and given an application in which he had been demanded to be punished quickly because without completing the sentence, he is not able to take part in social and political work.

Balwinder Singh is the acting president
Shiromani Akali Dal has recently made senior leader Balwinder Singh Bhundar the working president of the party. Now it remains to be seen whether there will be a change of leadership in the Akali Dal in the coming days or whether Sukhbir Badal will once again become the party president. Its impact will be visible in the coming days on the internal politics of Shiromani Akali Dal, the major regional party of Punjab.
