‘Wife is facing mental torture’, Siddaramaiah said in MUDA case, gave reason for return of land

MUDA Scam: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is in trouble in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case, spoke to the media on Tuesday (October 1). Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that his wife is emotionally distressed due to the MUDA case and is also facing mental torture.

CM Siddaramaiah said, ‘Amidst the allegations in the MUDA case, my wife has become a victim of hate politics and that is why he has decided to return the land to the authority. Can’t understand why ED has registered a case under money laundering.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, ‘My wife Parvati has decided to give up the ownership and possession of 14 plots which were allotted to her from MUDA. I am quite surprised by my wife’s decision to return the land. Let us tell you that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvati has written a letter to Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) on Monday (September 30) offering to return the 14 plots allotted to her. Parvati’s letter comes amid the growing controversy over the alleged scam in MUDA land allotment.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah accused the opposition of unnecessarily dragging his family into a political fight. Siddaramaiah said, ‘My stance was to fight a long battle without succumbing to this injustice, but my wife was very upset with the political conspiracies being hatched against me. Frustrated, he decided to return the sites. My wife never interfered in my four decades of politics. However, I respect his decision.

What did the MUDA Commissioner say?

MUDA Commissioner Raghunandan Bait told the media, ‘I have a letter from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife to return the sites. CM’s son Yatendra Siddaramaiah came to our office and gave this letter in which information about returning the sites has been given. Action will be taken on this entire matter as per law. We will take the next decision on this issue only after further consultation.
