Waqf Board Amendment Bill 2024: Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani gave his reaction on the Waqf Board amendment on Sunday (3 November 2024). He said that there is a sectarian mentality prevailing in the country. Waqf bill is an important issue. I challenge Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu, the crutches on which the government is running, that they can never understand sitting in their bungalows how much the sentiments of Muslims are connected to this.
He further said that I thank Naidu. The people of the country defeated the BJP government, but the BJP government is sitting on two crutches. Nawab Jaan, Naidu Saheb has sent the Vice President of TDP here, who will tell him about the situation here. At the end of this month, we will gather 5 lakh Muslims in Naidu’s area on 15th December.
‘This bill is full of poison’
Maulana Arshad Madani said that if this law is passed, then the crutches on which BJP is ruling the country will also be held responsible. There is poison inside this bill which will harm Muslims.
All India Muslim Personal Law Board had said this
Let us tell you that earlier on Saturday (2 October 2024), the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had said that if Muslims do not want amendments in the bill, then it should be set aside. AIMPB General Secretary Maulana Mohammad Fazlurrahim Mujadidi, while addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, said, in just 13 days, more than 3.66 crore Muslims have expressed their opposition to the Waqf Amendment Bill through emails. When Muslims do not want this bill then the government should ignore it.
‘What Muslims want should be considered’
AIMPB had said that the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) had sought public opinion on this issue. Mujadidi said on Saturday, “Earlier all the amendments brought for the Waqf Board were aimed at strengthening it. We know that the current bill will weaken the Waqf Board. This is the reason why AIMPB is not accepting these amendments. They will also decide how to handle this matter legally. We urge that this issue be addressed and consideration be given to what Muslims want.”
