Jammu Kashmir Election: Regarding the Jammu and Kashmir elections, former Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said on Tuesday (June 6) that it is the right of the people. Speaking to news agency PTI, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said in Srinagar, “I have repeatedly said that we are not hungry and naked that we should beg them (the central government and the Election Commission) to hold elections.” Choice is our right. If they (the central government) get satisfaction by taking away the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, then do it.
Abdullah said that the Election Commission should tell the people why it is not able to conduct the election? Is there pressure on the Election Commission? Abdullah further said that the Election Commission should be questioned as to when it is conducting the elections?
What did you say about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir?
Citing the statement of the Army Commander, Abdullah said that he had said that this is not the right time to withdraw the army from Jammu and Kashmir. I agree that this is not the right time. We are already saying this that the situation is not normal.
National Conference Vice President Abdullah further said that the G-20 meeting is being held in Jammu and Kashmir to hide the situation here, but the local people know the truth. He claimed that where it used to take us five minutes to go earlier, now it is taking 40 minutes to go there. Due to this, students, employees and patients are facing a lot of trouble.
According to Hindustan Times, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah also said on Sunday (May 4) that we need elections because some officers and the LG cannot see the entire administration here. Democracy is possible only in an elected government.
What does the Congress have to say?
Congress state president Vikar Rasool on Monday (June 5) targeted the BJP government and said that it has imposed an undeclared emergency by not conducting elections. We believe that elections should be held at every level from Panchayat, DDC and BDC. Let us tell you that on August 5, 2019, 370 was removed in Jammu and Kashmir. Since then elections have not been held here.
