Political Reactions Over Film Adipurush: The Delhi unit of the BJP has demanded a stay on the release of the film ‘Adipurush’ till the ‘controversial’ scenes and dialogues are reviewed again. Other parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Congress and the Shiv Sena (UBT), also criticized filmmaker Om Raut for allegedly hurting the sentiments of people with the rendering of Lord Hanuman in his film.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel even said that in the film the words used by the people of Bajrang Dal are being spoken through the mouth of Bajrangbali. ‘Adipurush’, which portrays the epic Ramayana on the big screen, hit the theaters on Friday (June 16).
The film is facing criticism on social media for VFX effects and dialogues and its writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla has come under attack from critics for the dialogues of Lord Hanuman in scenes including ‘Lanka Dahan’.
BJP leader requests review from Information and Broadcasting Minister
Amidst the controversy, BJP’s Delhi unit spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has requested Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur that the controversial scenes and dialogues of the film should be reviewed again.
He tweeted, “Honorable Anurag Thakur ji’s film ‘Adipurush’ is being opposed everywhere. Therefore, it is requested that its disputed scene and dialogue be reviewed again. The Board of Film Certification should temporarily suspend the censor certificate of this film. Its performance should be banned till re-review.
Aam Aadmi Party’s reaction to the film ‘Adipurush’
Earlier in the day, AAP also criticized the film and said that BJP was supporting such a film which insulted Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and Lord Hanuman.
Rajya Sabha member and AAP’s national spokesperson Sanjay Singh made these allegations while addressing a press conference at the party headquarters. He read out some of the dialogues from the film and termed them as a ‘grave insult’ to Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and Lord Hanuman as well as Hinduism.
Sanjay Singh claimed that the film was from Uttar Pradesh. Yogi AdityanathMade ‘with the blessings’ of Madhya Pradesh’s Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Haryana’s Manohar Lal Khattar, Assam’s Himanta Vishwa Sharma and Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The AAP leader said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda should also apologize to the country and the entire Hindu society for allowing the production and exhibition of such a film, which has hurt the sentiments of Hindus.” ,
What else did CM Bhupesh Baghel say?
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday criticized the film ‘Adipurush’, calling it an attempt to tarnish the image of Lord Ram and Hanuman. He said that if people demand, then the Congress government in the state can consider banning it (the film).
Talking to reporters at his residence, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, “Nowadays the work of tarnishing the image of all our deities is being done. We have seen the gentle faces of Lord Rama and Hanuman drenched in devotion, but over the years, efforts are being made to change this image…But in this film, Lord Rama is portrayed as a ‘yuddhaka’ (warrior) Rama and Hanuman Shown as ‘Angry Bird’.
Bhupesh Baghel’s target on BJP
CM Baghel said, “Neither our forefathers have imagined such an image of Lord Hanuman nor does our society accept it.” Probably targeting the BJP without naming it, the Chief Minister said, “ I want to ask why the political parties who become contractors of religion are silent in this matter. Why are BJP leaders who have been giving statements on Kashmir files and Kerala story silent on ‘Adipurush’? ,
He said, “The dialogues and language in the film are limitless. In Tulsidas ji’s Ramayana, Lord Ram has been portrayed as Maryada Purushottam and civilized language has been used. The dialogues of the characters in Adipurush are very low.
Baghel said, “You will remember that when Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister, he got a Ramayana serial made by speaking to Ramanand Sagar, which became very popular. At that time the markets used to be closed. Look at his every word. In the pretext of Adipurush, work was done to distort the pictures of Lord Ram and Hanuman and indecent words were put in the mouths of the characters. If today’s generation sees what will be the impact on them.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said this
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate termed the language of the film as ‘Tapori’ and said that it hurts the sentiments of the people. He said, “Lord Shri Hanuman is a symbol of gentleness and seriousness. In the year 1987, when Ramanand Sagar produced the Ramayana serial, then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had said that ‘Ramayana’ ignites the hearts and minds of crores of viewers. It broadcasts the great culture, tradition and morality of India.
Shrinet said, “The author of Ramayana was Ramanand Sagar who did not hurt the sentiments of crores of people with Tapori language, but established the sweet, gentle and dynamic image of Siyaram in the hearts and minds of the society.”
He said that “this is the difference between religion and the business of religion.” You will get cheap popularity on the strength of your sycophancy, big shows are also available, but lack of talent definitely comes in the way. The writer who calls Hanuman ‘Tere Baap ki Jali’ is not only a squid, but a Hindu is also a very rude type.
What is the reaction of Shiv Sena (UBT) regarding ‘Adipurush’?
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said film director Raut along with Muntashir should apologize to the people of the country for the ‘road print’ dialogue in the film, especially for Lord Hanuman.
Chaturvedi said, “The way language has been used for our deities in the name of entertainment hurts the sentiments of all Indians. If you make a film on ‘Maryada Purushottam’ Ram and violate all norms to achieve quick success at the box office, then it is unacceptable.”
What did Ramanand Sagar’s son Moti Sagar say?
Ramanand Sagar’s son Moti Sagar, who was one of the directors of the popular ‘Ramayana’ serial aired on Doordarshan, said the makers of ‘Adipurush’ should have been more ‘cautious’ while bringing the mythological epic to the big screen.
Moti Sagar, who worked with father Ramanand Sagar and brother Prem Sagar on the sets of ‘Ramayan’ in 1987, said, “Looking at the dialogues I have read in the news and on Twitter, I can tell them to be careful.” Needed.”
