IMD Heatwave Alert: People in North India are troubled by the heat at this time. The situation is such that the state governments are being demanded to extend the summer vacations of children in schools. In such a situation, now the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding the heat for some states. Severe heat conditions are likely to continue in these states for the next few days. Let us tell you which states are included in these.
According to IMD, heatwave conditions occur when the maximum temperature is above 40 degrees Celsius and 4.5 degrees above normal. In its new bulletin, the meteorological body has also explained in detail about the condition of the heatwave and the time it will subside. Along with this, people have also been advised not to go out in the sun. The Meteorological Department appeals to try all those measures with the help of which the heat can be avoided.
Heatwave alert in these states
Jharkhand- There is a possibility of severe heatwave conditions in different areas of the state during the next three days i.e. from June 19 to June 21. The Jharkhand government on Sunday (June 18) extended the summer vacations for students up to class VIII till June 21.
Chhattisgarh- There is a strong possibility of heatwave conditions at some places during the next three days. Due to the hot winds coming from the north-west, there may be strong heat in many districts. The government has advised people to avoid sunlight. The highest temperature in Chhattisgarh has been recorded in Janjgir-Champa district.
Maharashtra- IMD has alerted that the Vidarbha region will also experience severe heat wave conditions in the next three days. According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, due to the increase in the heat in Maharashtra, heat stroke is also happening.
Odisha- IMD said that heatwave to severe heatwave conditions would prevail in different parts of Odisha during the next three days. In many districts in the state, the temperature was recorded at 45 degrees. The state government had on Friday (June 16) extended the school summer vacation for two more days in view of the prevailing hot and humid weather.
Telangana- Telangana is also likely to witness severe heatwave conditions in different areas till Wednesday (June 21). The mercury has crossed 40 in Hyderabad. People of most of the cities are facing the scorching heat.
Coastal Andhra Pradesh – The IMD said that heat wave conditions would continue over Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next two days. The state is currently in the grip of heat wave. After two days, a slight improvement can be seen in the weather.
A state in Eastern India- If we talk about Bihar, we may have to face severe heat conditions during the next two days. According to Hindustan Times report, in the eastern state, around 44 people have died due to heat wave conditions in the last three days. Amidst the dangerous situation, schools in Patna will also remain closed till June 24.
Gangetic West Bengal- In West Bengal also, there is a possibility of heat wave for the next two days at some places. Some places of West Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Maldah and Do Dinajpur are facing maximum heat.
East Madhya Pradesh- The eastern region of the state would experience heat wave conditions during the next two days. Here in the month of June, the heat is breaking all the records in the state. There is no hope for people to get relief from the scorching sun and rising temperature.
Eastern Uttar Pradesh IMD said that no respite is expected from the heat wave conditions in eastern UP for the next two days, where 50 people have died in just 4 days due to heat wave conditions in Ballia district.
