Telangana Investigations: Former BRS MLA Pattanam Narendra Reddy, who was arrested on Wednesday (November 13). In his statement to the police, he allegedly admitted that the attack on Vikarabad Collector Prateek Jain was carried out on the instructions of BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR). After the copy of the demand report surfaced, there has been a sensation in the political circles of Telangana and speculations are being made about the arrest of KTR.
According to police sources, KTR and other senior BRS leaders directed them to carry out the attack to destabilize the state government and damage its reputation. The report submitted in the court during the remand process referred to Narendra’s alleged statement which read, “During interrogation he (Narendra) confessed to have committed this crime as part of a criminal conspiracy to destabilize the state government and The image of Telangana administration can be tarnished.”
Big revelation made in investigation
The investigation has also revealed that there were 84 conversations between Narendra and BRS youth leader Bogamouni Suresh in the last 70 days in which attempts were allegedly made to incite violence and intensify the protest against land acquisition. Narendra and 46 others have now been charged with serious charges of conspiracy and attempt to murder.
Chief Minister’s brother meets Collector, BRS leaders accused of conspiracy
After the attack, Tirupati Reddy, brother of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, met Vikarabad District Collector Prateek Jain and condemned the incident. Tirupati Reddy accused BRS leaders KTR and Harish Rao of conspiring to disrupt the development of Kodangal, the chief minister’s constituency, and defame Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
He alleged that the BRS government had acquired land for the Mallanasagar project by attacking farmers at night while the Congress government, instead of harassing the farmers, had adopted the process of acquiring land for the development of Kodangal on the basis of their opinions.
KTR accuses Congress government of grabbing real estate
During a press conference at Telangana Bhawan in Hyderabad, BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) accused the Congress government of grabbing real estate under the guise of setting up Pharma Village Fourth City and a skills university. KTR demanded an immediate ban on the proposed Pharma Village project in Lachgarla village of Vikarabad. They claim that the government misled the High Court and that there is no legal right to re-use the acquired land.
KTR also said that BRS members did not instigate the recent violence in Lachgarla but the local people were protesting against land acquisition. KTR also criticized the arrest of former MLA Narendra Reddy, calling it “kidnapping”.
IGP’s statement: Narendra Reddy played an important role in the attack.
Telangana Multi Zone-II IGP V. Satyanarayana said that former BRS MLA Pattanam Narendra Reddy has been named as the main accused in the attack on Vikarabad Collector Prateek Jain and other officials.
