‘What kind of petition is this’, SC rejects demand for re-election on 20 seats of Haryana

The Supreme Court has rejected the petition demanding re-election on 20 assembly seats of Haryana. This petition was filed by Congress in which questions were raised regarding EVMs. The CJI said in a harsh tone, what kind of petitions are filed?

The petitioner’s lawyer said that the batteries of many EVM machines were low charged on the day of counting. Earlier in the morning, the court had reprimanded the same petitioner for demanding that oath taking be stopped in Haryana. The court had said that a fine should be imposed for such a demand.
