Navratri: Navratri from one day onwards, those buying fast items will have to shell out more

Navratri 2024: Only one day is left for the festival of Navratri and with this, arrangements for puja materials etc. are being made in homes. During the festival of Navratri, many devotees observe fast for 9 days and eat fruits. However, this year you will have to spend more money to keep the fast during the festival of Navratri because the items for the fast including food items are going to be more than last year’s Navratri. As you know that those observing fast need many types of items but the prices of even food items are higher than last year.

You will definitely need oil to make vrat items and you will have to spend more on this front too. Groundnut oil has come down to Rs 187.49 per litre. If we look at the prices of other goods then-

Mustard oil price Rs 154.17 per liter
Soybean oil Rs 129.62 per liter
Sunflower oil Rs 132.7 per liter
Palm oil Rs 115.2 per liter
Vegetable oil at Rs 130.56 per liter

Prices of these products increased by 15-20 percent

In Uttar Pradesh, where Noida falls, there has been a huge jump in the prices of fasting items like water chestnut flour, buckwheat flour and other products which have become costlier by 15-20 percent.

Prices of most commonly used products for fasting increased

Among the fasting items, the most used product for fasting is milk and changes are being seen in its prices. Its price is currently Rs 58.59 per liter and due to this you will have to spend more for different types of sweets, khoya etc. According to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, on October 1 last year, the price of milk was Rs 57.25 per liter. There has been a big jump in the rates of all these products and along with this the price of Makhana has increased by one and a half times.

Strong rise in the price of dry fruits

There has been a strong increase in the rates of walnuts, figs, almonds and cashews and an increase of Rs 150-200 has been seen in their rates as compared to earlier.

Tremendous rise in the prices of fruits

Along with the fasting items, fruits are also required, so you will have to spend more for this also. The prices of fruits like apple, grapes, pear, guava have also gone up to very high prices.
