Pitru Paksha 2024: Third day’s Shradh tomorrow, do not do this work even by mistake

Pitru Paksha 2024, Day 3 Tarpan: Pitru Paksha runs from Pratipada Tithi of Ashwin Krishna Paksha to Amavasya. On the occasion of Pitru Paksha, people remember their ancestors. Pinddaan is performed for the ancestors. On the occasion of Pitru Paksha, people have to pay special attention to everything from food to behavior. Buying any kind of new item is prohibited in Pitru Paksha. Pitru Paksha (Pitru Paksha 2024) has started. Thursday, September 19, 2024 is the second day of Pitru Paksha.

Who can perform Shradh on the third day (Day 3 Tarpan and Shradh)
Tritiya Shraddha 2024 is performed for the deceased family member who died on Tritiya Tithi, although it includes Tritiya of both Shukla and Krishna Paksha. Tritiya Shraddha is also known as Teej Shraddha.

Auspicious time for Tritiya Shradh (Shubh Muhurat 20 September 2024)
There are three auspicious times for Tritiya Shradh. On 20 September 2024, Friday, Kutup Muhurta starts from 11:50 am to 12:39 pm. After this, Rohin Muhurta starts from 12:39 pm to 1:27 pm. The Muhurta of afternoon period starts from 1:27 pm to 3:54 pm. The same Tritiya Shradh will start at 12:39 pm on 20 September and the same Tritiya Shradh will end on 20 September, 2024 at 9:15 pm on Friday night.

What to do on Tritiya Shradh (What to do)

• On the occasion of Tritiya Shraddha, perform Shraddha of ancestors in auspicious time
• By performing Tritiya Shradh ritually, good sense is maintained along with better health.
• On the third day, water made from a mixture of Ganga water, honey, Tulsi, raw milk and barley should be offered to the ancestors.
• A lamp of pure cow ghee should be lit and incense should be burnt. Rose flowers and sandalwood should be offered to the ancestors.
• After this, you should chant the names of all your ancestors as far as you can remember. On this day, tarpan should be done only after worshipping Lord Vishnu and Yam.
• After chanting the names of your ancestors, meditate on Goddess Lakshmi and recite the third chapter of the Gita.
• After this, keep the food aside for cows, crows, dogs and ants.
• It is a virtuous act to feed Brahmins on the day of Tritiya Shraddha.
• Do not create any kind of conflict in the house on the day of Pitru Paksha. Non-vegetarian food, onion, garlic, brinjal, white sesame, radish, gourd, black salt, sattu, cumin, lentils, mustard greens, gram etc. should not be eaten. Avoid doing any kind of wrong work on this day.
