Till 5 years ago, the monsoon used to arrive by 10th June
The average date of entry of monsoon clouds in Chhattisgarh is 13th June which was 10th June till 5 years ago. That is, till this time monsoon rains used to occur in some places of the state and pre-monsoon rains in most places, but at this time most of the state including the district is in the grip of heat wave. The afternoon temperature in Janjgir is hovering around 45 degrees. Conditions like sun burn are being created from 11 pm to 5 pm.
‘Schools should be closed till it rains’
In view of this parents Sarika Sanskar Srivastava, Prateek Verma, Omprakash Verma, Dipanjali Yadav, Shekhar Mishra, Umashankar Soni, Rajeev Jaiswal, Prashant Panda Adi has sent a demand to the Chief Minister and the Education Minister to open schools for both teachers and students like MPs after a week. Parents have demanded to open the schools one week more late by sending messages on the personal mobile of the Education Minister, sending WhatsApp messages and through Twitter. The parents believe that the school cannot be conducted even in the morning because there will be strong sunlight till the return from school and hot winds start blowing as soon as 10 in the morning, in such a situation, there will be a situation of scorching of the innocent, due to this till two – If there is no good rain for three days and the temperature is not normal, till then the operation of the schools should be suspended.
Adverse effect on health
The effect of the scorching heat is directly visible on the health of the people. People are suffering from high fever with vomiting, diarrhoea, as well as complaints of blisters in their mouth. The crowd of patients has increased in the hospitals. In view of the humid heat, the doctors have also appealed to the general public to take precautions. Doctors say that along with avoiding exposure to strong sunlight, keep drinking water at regular intervals and never stay empty stomach.
