Chhattisgarh: Youths of the village gang-raped a girl after giving her alcohol, both accused arrested

Bastar: A shameful case of humanity has come to light in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district, where a girl was gang-raped by two youths of the village after getting her drunk. On regaining consciousness, the girl somehow reached her home and told this to her family members. After which the relatives lodged a report with the police. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Nagarnar police took immediate action and arrested both the accused absconding from the village.

In police interrogation, the accused have confessed to gang-raping the girl after forcing her to drink alcohol. At present, the police have sent the accused to jail after taking them in remand. Medical checkup has been done to the victim.

While returning from the fair, the accused forced

The station in-charge of Nagarnar said that on May 13, the victim, a resident of Nagarnar village, came to the police station along with her family members and lodged a report. The victim told in her statement that she had gone to see the fair in the nearby village, from where she was going back after buying some things for the house. Only then at around 2 in the afternoon two youths of his acquaintance Nirmal and Damrudhar were found. During this, while talking to the victim, both the accused asked her to leave the house and then started coercing her.

The accused absconded leaving the victim in a state of unconsciousness – the station in-charge

The station in-charge told that the accused took the victim to Nilgiri Plot, a secluded place, and forced the victim to drink alcohol. Here the accused forcibly gang-raped the victim by pressing her mouth, holding her hands and legs. After the incident, the accused fled leaving the victim unconscious. After regaining consciousness, the victim returned home and narrated the incident to her family members. The family members hurriedly filed a police report along with the victim.

As soon as the complaint was received, the police registered the case and got involved in locating the accused. The police station in-charge of Nagarnar got information that both the accused had secretly come to their house. Taking immediate action on the information, the police laid siege to the accused and arrested them from different areas. The accused have accepted their crime. Both were sent to jail.
