Delhi Police has busted a honey-trap robbery gang operating in Mehrauli area of Delhi. Taking action, the police arrested three accused including a woman. The looted mobile phone, cash and the knife used in the crime have also been recovered from the accused.
Used to rob the girl with her friends
According to Delhi Police, while patrolling on Badarpur-Mehrauli Road on April 13, a man named Baidyanath Kamat told the police that a girl beckoned him and as soon as he reached near her, two boys looted his mobile phone, bag and cash at knifepoint. After the incident, the three accused fled from the spot. As soon as the complaint was received, the police team came into action and after reaching the spot, one of the accused, Rahul, was caught. Police have recovered a knife and Rs 750 from accused Rahul.
Police took action with the help of technical surveillance
With the help of technical surveillance, Delhi Police also arrested the remaining two accused Gungun Gandhi and Sameer. The police also recovered the victim’s mobile phone, Aadhar card and other items. Police investigation revealed that Rahul had already been involved in many cases of robbery and theft.
Whereas no criminal record of the other two accused has been found. The female accused Gungun used to play the role of decoy in this gang and used to trap people. All three accused were produced in the court and sent to Tihar Jail for 14 days judicial custody.
